She finished high school by 15 in China, and at 16 moved to Australia, learned English and enrolled at Bond University in Queensland to study law. In the following year, she completed a Graduate Diploma with Leo Cussen and was admitted to legal practice at the age of 19.
Driven by her inner sense of responsibility towards the disadvantaged, Aletta is committed to delivering social justice through her legal work focusing on migration and administrative law.
Since joining the Bardo team in 2017, Aletta has successfully helped her clients with a variety of challenging matters. She manages cases relating to visa cancellation, refusal, public interest criteria, ministerial intervention, AAT merits review and judicial review.
Comparably, Aletta is experienced in dealing with skills assessment authorities and advising clients on complex applications with AITSL, ANMAC, ACS, Engineers Australia, and VETASSESS.
Prior to her current role, Aletta has worked in a range of legal areas in both private sectors and community legal centres including Refugee and Immigration Legal Centre (RILC). During her university study, she has led the University Chinese Student Association and coordinated several large cultural festivals held in the local community.
In addition to native language Mandarin, Aletta also speaks Japanese and enjoys the cross-cultural encounters ensued from the professional experience. Integrity, passion and perseverance are what enables Aletta to achieve the optimal outcome for her clients.
